Glomerulonephritis and Urinary Abnormalities
There are some patients who develop urinary abnormalities such as blood in the urine (hematuria) and/or protein in the urine (proteinuria), which may be related to several underlying causes including inflammatory conditions of the kidneys (glomerulonephritis). These conditions can cause kidney damage and other complications in the body. Dr. Pandeya assesses patients with urinary abnormalities and glomerulonephritis and decides on whether further investigations such as blood and urine testing are required, as well as considers whether a kidney biopsy is required. On occasion, a referral is made for shared care with his colleagues at a specialized Glomerulonephritis Clinic.
